Martin-Joy JS, et al. - Using data from an over 70-year longitudinal study, the researchers intended to measure changes in defense maturity from mid to late life. The findings from the present study suggested that men who experienced less childhood warmth were more likely to exhibit an increase in adaptive defenses during the period from mid to late life.
