Development and validation of an OMERACT MRI Whole-Body Score for Inflammation in Peripheral Joints and Entheses in Inflammatory Arthritis (MRI-WIPE)
The Journal of Rheumatology Sep 06, 2019
Krabbe S, Eshed I, Gandjbakhch F, et al. - Researchers sought to create a whole-body MRI scoring system for peripheral arthritis and enthesitis. Four multi-reader exercises were performed following consensus on definitions/locations of MRI pathologies. Separate scoring (0–3) of 83 joints for synovitis and osteitis, and of 33 entheses for soft tissue inflammation and osteitis was performed. In the last exercise, they observed moderate-good reliability for musculoskeletal radiologists and rheumatologists with previously demonstrated good scoring proficiency. Findings support further testing and refinement of whole-body MRI scoring of peripheral arthritis and enthesitis in clinical trials.
