Determinants of survival and favorable neurologic outcomes in ischemic heart disease treated by veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
Heart and Vessels Aug 10, 2017
Yonezu K, et al. – In a study population of patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) treated by veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO), researchers explored the factors that could determine the survival and favorable neurologic outcomes. Findings suggested that in IHD patients needing V–A ECMO, in order to achieve a better survival and to maintain neurological function, rapid establishment of V–A ECMO system as well as obtaining thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI-3) flow grade should be sought.
