Detection of liver fibrosis using qualitative and quantitative MR elastography compared to liver surface nodularity measurement, gadoxetic acid uptake, and serum markers
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Dec 01, 2017
Besa C, et al. - This study was undertaken to assess the diagnostic performance of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) including qualitative and quantitative assessment of MR elastography (MRE), liver surface nodularity (LSN) measurement, hepatic enhancement ratios postgadoxetic acid, and serum markers (APRI, FIB-4) for the detection of liver fibrosis. Findings demonstrated that for the detection of liver fibrosis, the best performance was displayed by liver stiffness measured with MRE vs LSN and gadoxetic acid uptake, with slight improvement evident when combined with FIB-4.
