Epilepsia Oct 09, 2017
Halford JJ, et al. - This paper resolved to gauge the performance and tolerability in the epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) of an investigational wearable surface electromyographic (sEMG) monitoring system. The intent was to determine generalized tonicÂclonic seizures (GTCSs). Feasibility was brought to light of the detection of GTCSs using a sEMG monitoring device on the biceps. The findings illustrated the significance of proper positioning of this device for achieving accuracy. Minimizing the number of false positives could be cumbersome for some patients.
