Dermoscopy vs reflectance confocal microscopy for the diagnosis of lentigo maligna
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Apr 03, 2018
Cinotti E, et al. - The diagnostic accuracy of dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) for lentigo maligna (LM)/lentigo maligna melanoma (LMM) was assessed by the researchers using a holistic assessment of the images. For diagnosing the facial lesions particularly LM/LMM, both RCM and dermoscopy were seen to be useful techniques. Results demonstrated that for the identification of hypomelanotic and recurrent LM/LMM, RCM was particularly suitable. A higher interinvestigator agreement and a higher confidence level in the diagnosis were presented by RCM vs dermoscopy.
