McGinty J, et al. - This systematic review aimed to examine the relationship between depressive symptoms during first episode psychosis (FEP) with subsequent suicide risk. During FEP, depressive symptoms were correlated with increased longer-term risk of suicidal behaviour. This relationship needed to be acknowledged during early management planning. To identify efficacious management of depression during FEP, large-scale clinical trials were required.
