Scarberry K, et al. - Herein the outcomes with early vs delayed reconstruction after pelvic fracture urethral injury (PFUI) were compared to determine whether a traditional 3-month delay is necessary. Similar outcomes were noted after urethral reconstruction for PFUI patients repaired ≤6 weeks after injury vs those delayed ≥12 weeks, thereby suggesting that reconstruction in selected cases at 3-6 weeks was feasible, decreasing the morbidity of a suprapubic tube.
