Delayed enhancement of the peritumoural cortex in clear cell renal cell carcinoma: Correlation with Fuhrman grade
Clinical Radiology Jul 29, 2018
Zhang X, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers evaluated the delayed enhancement of the peritumoural cortex (DEC) sign in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) as well as examined a possible relationship among DEC and Fuhrman grade via analyzing data of 506 patients with 511 histopathologically proven ccRCCs assessed by computed tomography (CT) angiography. They found that DEC was more often identified in high-grade ccRCCs with large size and the angiographic phase was crucial in the detection of DEC. The study findings suggested that DEC might be correlated with the aggressive biological behavior of ccRCC.
