Defining and predicting early recurrence after liver resection of hepatocellular carcinoma: A multi-institutional study
HPB Oct 16, 2019
Xing H, Zhang WG, Cescon M, et al. - Using multi-institutional Chinese database, researchers identified the optimal cutoff between early and late recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and developed nomograms for pre- and postoperative anticipation of early recurrence. Of the reported 1,501 patients, 539 were free of recurrence. The optimal threshold for determining early HCC recurrence was an 8-month interval. To allow precise pre- and postoperative prediction of early recurrence, the two web-based nomograms have been released. In patients with resectable HCC, these may provide valuable guidelines in individual care and follow-up.
