Decreased expression of COLEC10 predicts poor overall survival in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma
Cancer Management and Research Aug 11, 2018
Zhang B, et al. - Given collectin subfamily member 10 (COLEC10) encodes for collectin liver 1 (CL-L1), which is highly expressed in normal liver, researchers determined the link between COLEC10 and the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas. They compared transcriptional levels of COLEC10 in HCC samples and samples from healthy controls. They also analyzed HCC tissue samples from Chinese patients and matched adjacent nontumorous tissue samples. They found that, in HCC tissues vs normal controls, downregulation of both the mRNA and protein levels of COLEC10 was evident. According to results, decreased expression of COLEC10 may predict poor overall survival in patients with HCC.
