Decreased expression of BRAF-activated long non-coding RNA is associated with the proliferation of clear cell renal cell carcinoma
BMC Urology Sep 14, 2018
Xue S, et al. - Authors assessed how clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and BRAF-activated long non-coding RNA (BANCR) are related to each another. They analyzed the expression of BANCR in TCGA renal cancer data sets. In ccRCC tissues and cell lines, BANCR is downregulated. Findings also suggested a relationship between BANCR and ccRCC progression, so for ccRCC patients, an innovative prognostic biomarker and a possible therapeutic target may be represented by BANCR. BANCR expression was significantly reduced in ccRCC tissues and ccRCC cell lines compared to adjacent normal renal tissues and normal human proximal tubule epithelial cell line HK-2, and they noted its low expression correlated with poor prognosis.
