Ulrich NH, et al. - This study compared the benefits of decompression surgery alone versus decompression plus fusion in symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis patients with spondylolisthesis. Findings corroborated distinctive benefits of these two surgical treatments in patients. Furthermore, when adjusted for confounders, fusion surgery was not associated with a more favorable outcome in both Spinal Stenosis Measure (SSM) scores as compared to decompression alone surgery.
