Daylight photodynamic therapy for the treatment of actinic cheilitis

Photodermatology, Photoimmunology and Photomedicine Aug 05, 2018

Levi A, et al. - In patients with actinic cheilitis (AC), authors ascertained the safety and effectiveness of daylight photodynamic therapy (PDT). All patients included in this study had AC and were subjected to repeated treatments until clinical and histological remission was attained. For the treatment of AC with remarkable cosmetic results and low side effects, daylight PDT was found to be a promising modality. Findings suggested that the cure rate was 91% (10 out of 11 patients). During treatment, mild erythema and minimal to no pain was experienced by the patients.
