Day‐hospital enhanced cognitive behavior therapy for adults with eating disorders: Immediate and follow‐up effects
International Journal of Eating Disorders Oct 30, 2021
Grave RD, Dametti L, Conti M, et al. - Adult patients with eating disorders who were administered enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E) in a day-hospital setting were assessed for their outcomes.
In the 13-week day-hospital CBT-E program, 43 consecutive patients with eating disorders (86% females; mean age 28.8 [SD = 11.8]) were involved.
Substantial improvements in eating-disorder features, general psychopathology, clinical impairment, and body weight (only in underweight patients) were recorded following treatment completion; the improvements remained well maintained at follow-up.
Overall outcomes suggest a promising value of day-hospital CBT-E in treating adults with eating disorders.
