Daptomycin treatment in patients with resistant staphylococcal periprosthetic joint infection

Chang YJ, et al. - This study was planned to determine the clinical dosage, effect, and safety of daptomycin in patients with resistant staphylococcal periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). It was observed that relatively high daptomycin doses combined with adequate surgical intervention were effective for the treatment of these patients. In PJI patients for whom glycopeptide treatment is unsuitable, researchers suggest considering daptomycin as an option.
