Dairy consumption and risk of conventional and serrated precursors of colorectal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies
Journal of Oncology May 30, 2021
Guo LL, Li YT, Yao J, et al. - This systematic review and meta-analysis was the first to examine the relationship between various dairy products and the precursor of colorectal cancer risk, as well as the first to look for a linear link. For observational studies, the databases PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched until July 2020. In total, 12 studies were included (3 cohort studies and 9 case-control studies). There were no significant relationships between total milk consumption and non/low-fat milk intake. Fermented dairy products, particularly yogurt and cheese, were significantly linked to decreased risk of conventional and serrated precursors of colorectal cancer.
