Lee JW, et al. - Infants with urinary tract infection (UTI) were retrospectively examined, in this study, to assess the usefulness of serum D-dimer as a biological marker in diagnosing acute pyelonephritis (APN) and in predicting vesicoureteric reflux (VUR) in these subjects. As per the observations of researchers, D-dimer can be used as an inflammatory marker, over and above other inflammatory markers, in infants with febrile UTI.
