Cystic squamous cell carcinomas of the jaws: Twelve cases highlighting histopathologic pitfalls

Barrett AW, Garg M, Armstrong D, et al. - This research sought to document 12 cases of cystic squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) of the jaws. Researchers examined patient hospital notes, histopathologic reports, and original histologic sections. In this study, six patients were female and 6 were male (mean age = 74.0 years; range, 50-94). The study’s demonstrate that cystic SCC of the jaws can be difficult to diagnose histologically. As per the findings, clinico-radiological association and long-term follow-up are necessary.
