Cyclosporine for chronic spontaneous urticaria: A meta-analysis and systematic review
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice | Sep 20, 2017
Kulthanan K, et al. - Cyclosporine A (CsA) was appraised as a treatment option for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in a meta-analysis and review. Data suggested the efficacy of CsA at low to moderate doses. Adverse events seemed to be dependent on the dose and were reported in more than half the patients treated with moderate doses of CsA. Notably, 1 to 5 mg/kg/d was recommended as the potentially appropriate dosage of CsA for CSU, and 3 mg/kg/d was a reasonable starting dose for most patients.
