Cutaneous carcinogenic risk evaluation in 375 patients treated with narrowband-UVB phototherapy

Raone B, et al. - Herein experts aimed to prove the hypothesis suggesting a cutaneous carcinogenic effect of narrowband-ultraviolet B (NB-UVB). Cutaneous carcinogenesis could be triggered by NB-UVB mainly in subjects at risk for non-melanoma skin cancers, thereby, elevating their personal risk for single and multiple neoplasms, usually superficial basal cell carcinoma (BCCs). Findings did not suggest an increased risk of malignant melanoma.
