Current practices in venous disease--A survey of Canadian vascular surgeons
Journal of Vascular Surgery | Sep 14, 2017
Yang GK, et al. - This study was performed with the goal to assess the practice patterns of vascular surgeons in Canada in the treatment of superficial venous disease. Only 62% of the respondents offered sclerotherapy, whereas 49% offered endovenous ablation procedures in their practice. In this work, the majority of surgeons reported that their residency and fellowship had not prepared them for an active venous practice (68%). There appeared significant advancement in the treatment of superficial venous disease during the last few decades, but the existing obstacles hindered the delivery of venous therapy in accordance with current guidelines.
