CT vs endoscopic ultrasound for differentiating small (2–5 cm) gastrointestinal stromal tumors from leiomyomas
American Journal of Roentgenology May 12, 2019
Huh CW, et al. - In this investigation involving 71 patients with pathologically proven gastric subepithelial tumors, researchers compared the diagnostic performance of CT vs endoscopic ultrasound for gastric subepithelial tumors smaller than 5 cm, as well as identified significant CT findings correlated with the diagnosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumors. The authors concluded that CT is as effective for diagnosing gastric subepithelial tumors smaller than 5 cm as endoscopic ultrasound. Intralesional necrosis tumors with an LD-SD ratio of less than 1.5 may require a further pathological diagnosis.
