CT-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for lung neoplasms adjacent to the pericardium
Lung Cancer May 25, 2018
Mu L, et al. - Researchers determined if computed-tomography-guided (CT-guided) percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) serves as a safe and effective treatment option for patients suffering lung neoplasms adjacent to the pericardium. They found that RFA provided success rate of 96.1%, with local progression-free survival (LPFS) noted to be 93.0%, 84.0%, and 77.0% at 6, 12, and 24 months, respectively. The reported incidence of major complications was 15.7%. An increase in the heart rate and blood pressure was reported by patients. Overall, percutaneous CT-guided RFA can be a safe and effective option for the treatment of lung malignancies adjacent to the pericardium.
