CT findings of thoracic paravertebral lesions in IgG4-related disease
American Journal of Roentgenology May 31, 2019
Inoue D, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers described the CT findings of IgG4-related paravertebral lesions. Cases of IgG4-related paravertebral lesions that met 2 inclusion criteria were selected: lesions in patients with IgG4-related disease diagnosed by a multidisciplinary approach between April 2007 and June 2018, as well as patients with soft-tissue lesions in paravertebral regions on CT images. In 30 patients, a total of 31 paravertebral lesions have been identified. It was noted that all lesions were located around thoracic vertebrae, especially the lower thoracic regions. The authors discovered that IgG4-related paravertebral lesions occur mainly on the right side of the lower thoracic vertebrae and are present as a homogeneously enhanced bandlike mass corresponding to plasma cell–rich sclerosing inflammation.
