CT features of HER2-mutant lung adenocarcinomas
Clinical Imaging Jun 12, 2018
Sawan P, et al. - In this first radiogenomics study of HER2 mutations in lung cancer, researchers described the radiological phenotype of HER2-mutant lung cancers on CT at presentation. For this analysis, eligible patients with lung adenocarcinomas with HER2 mutations were stage-matched with two control groups (EGFR- and KRAS-mutant groups). They used Wilcoxon rank-sum and Fisher's exact tests to compare continuous and categorical features, respectively. Findings revealed that lung adenocarcinomas with HER2 gene mutation showed an aggressive behavior presented by a higher incidence of local invasion, vs KRAS and EGFR mutant controls, and a nodal metastatic spread compared to KRAS-mutant control.
