CT-based radiomics model for predicting brain metastasis in category T1 lung adenocarcinoma
American Journal of Roentgenology Apr 07, 2019
Chen A, et al. - Among 89 patients with category T1 lung adenocarcinoma, researchers developed and assessed an unenhanced CT–based radiomics model to anticipate brain metastasis (BM). Participants in the study were classified as patients with BM (n = 35) or patients without BM (n = 54). In total, 1160 quantitative radiomic characteristics have been extracted from unenhanced CT images of each patient. There was no significant difference between the radiomics model and the hybrid model. In patients with category T1 lung adenocarcinoma, a CT-based radiomics model had good predictive performance and great potential for anticipating BM. It can be helpful as a promising adjuvant tool to guide BM screening and thus benefit customized surveillance for lung cancer patients.
