Cryotherapy vs trichloroacetic acid 90% in treatment of common warts
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Oct 30, 2018
Abdel Meguid AM, et al. - In the treatment of common warts, experts sought to compare the effectiveness and safety of cryotherapy using liquid nitrogen (spray method) vs trichloroacetic acid (TCA) 90%. They divided the lesions of 35 patients into two groups (A and B), group A treated by cryotherapy while group B treated by TCA 90%. Findings suggested a greater efficacy of cryotherapy than TCA 90% in the treatment of common wart. Compared to cryotherapy, TCA 90% has less complications. In group A, a significantly higher complete cure was noted than group B. Nonetheless, compared to group B, side effects were significantly higher among group A.
