Gastrointestinal Endoscopy | Feb 27, 2018
Visrodia K, et al. - An assessment was performed of the efficacy of second-line cryotherapy in Barrett’s esophagus (BE) patients with persistent dysplasia or intestinal metaplasia (IM) after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) during this research. Complete eradication of dysplasia (CE-D) was achieved in three-quarters and complete eradication of intestinal metaplasia (CE-IM) in half of BE patients who did not respond to initial RFA through cryotherapy. Owing to its favorable safety profile, cryotherapy could serve as a viable second-line option for these BE patients.
