Cross-sectional study on the management and control of hypertension among migrants in primary care: What is the impact of segmented health insurance schemes?
Journal of the American Heart Association Aug 14, 2019
Li H, et al. - Researchers performed a site-based, cross-sectional, face-to-face patient survey in Shenzhen, China, to determine the link between insurance status and management and control of hypertension among migrants in primary care. They also looked at the role of social capital in facilitating migrants’ participation in local health insurance schemes. According to the findings, optimal control of hypertension among migrants was achieved with local health insurance schemes vs social health insurance schemes. Also, the contribution of perceived general trust, which is a form of social capital, to migrant hypertensive patients’ participation in local health insurance schemes was also highlighted in this study.
