Salgado VCL, et al. – This case–control study aims to recognize environmental risk factors associated with the development of CrohnÂs disease (CD) in order to re–assess the hygiene hypothesis. The authors reveal that most variables supporting the Âhygiene hypothesis are correlated with the development of CD, however, are not independent predictors of the diagnosis.
