Crohn's disease activity before and after medical therapy evaluated by MaRIA score and others parameters in MR Enterography
Clinical Imaging Jan 31, 2020
Minordi LM, Larosa L, Belmonte G, et al. - A retrospective study was conducted to assess the response to therapy in Crohn's disease (CD) individuals studied by MR Enterography (MRE) in comparison with Harvey Bradshaw Index (HBI). In this study, 160 individuals with histological proved CD have experienced MRE in the last years. They finally selected a total of 46 individuals who repeated MRE after medical therapy within six months. For each individual, the Magnetic Resonance Index of Activity (MaRIA) was assessed and applied to define the MR judgment. MRE is useful in evaluating the response to therapy in CD patients. In MRE, wall thickening, the longitudinal extension of wall thickening, presence of stratified mural hyperenhancement and extraintestinal signs were also evaluated. In CD individuals, MRE is beneficial in evaluating the response to therapy.
