Peralta V, et al. – The goal of the present research was to investigate the covariation between negative symptoms and motor signs in a broad sample of drug–naïve subjects with schizophrenia–spectrum psychoses before and after the inception of antipsychotic medication. The findings suggested that negative and motor features were differentiated, but to some extent, overlapping domains that were meaningfully influenced by antipsychotic medication. Motor signs and the diminished expression domain of negative symptoms could share underlying neurobiological mechanisms at the drug–naïve state.
