Cost-effectiveness analysis comparing conventional, hypofractionated, and intraoperative radiotherapy for early-stage breast cancer
Journal of the National Cancer Institute Nov 05, 2017
Deshmukh AA et al. - Adjuvant radiotherapy after lumpectomy is costly. In the current study the cost-effectiveness of relative value of intra-operative radiotherapy (IORT) and hypofractionated whole breast irradiation (HF-WBI) compared with conventionally fractionated whole breast irradiation (CF-WBI) was determined. It was shown that HF-WBI is cost-effective for women with early-stage breast cancer who require adjuvant radiotherapy.
