Cortactin expression in nasal polyps of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) patients
American Journal of Otolaryngology Mar 14, 2018
Brescia G, et al. - Researchers herein examined the cortactin expression in nasal polyps of a consecutive cohort of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) subjects and in nasal mucosa of a control group of patients. They noted that in nasal polyps, the cortactin expression was definitely high (+3) in maximum cases in both epithelial cells (cytoplasmic and membranous immunoreactivity) and activated fibroblasts. Compared to male AERD patients, females were presented with a higher cortactin expression. This preliminary evidence of cortactin upregulation in the polyps of AERD patients was derived by the experts.
