Correlation of corneal and scleral pneumatonometry in pediatric patients
Ophthalmology Mar 16, 2018
Lee JH, et al. - In pediatric patients, the correlation between corneal and scleral intraocular pressure (IOP) was studied by the experts through pneumatonometry. When measured by pneumatonometry, corneal and scleral IOP in children was noted to be correlated significantly. Compared to measurements obtained from inferonasal sclera, those obtained from the inferotemporal sclera were better predictors of corneal IOP. For pediatric patients from whom corneal IOP measurement was difficult to obtain, pneumatonometry on the inferotemporal sclera could be an alternative method to estimate IOP.
