Correlation of circulating miR-765, miR-93-5p and miR-433-3p to obstructive coronary heart disease evaluated by cardiac computed tomography
The American Journal of Cardiology Apr 28, 2019
Infante T, et al. - Given the possible correlation between epigenetic-sensitive mechanisms and pathogenesis and prognosis of coronary heart disease (CHD), researchers performed this prospective analysis in 95 patients undergoing Cardiac Computed Tomography for suspected CHD in order to investigate some plasma circulating microRNA levels in these subjects. An independent association of miR-765, miR-31-5p and miR-206 with CHD as well as significantly higher circulating levels of miR-765, miR-433-3p, and miR-93-5p in critical stenosis patients were revealed in multivariate regression analysis. CHD severity was well-predicted by miR-765, miR-93-5p and miR-433-3p in ROC curve analysis. To support the diagnosis and prediction of CHD, a valuable combined epigenetic/imaging approach was presented in this study.
