Correlation between subjective and objective hearing tests after unilateral and bilateral cochlear implantation
BMC Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Dec 15, 2017
Ramakers GGJ, et al. - Researchers intended to discern the link between subjective (self-reported questionnaires) and objective (speech perception and localization) hearing test results in adult cochlear implant (CI) users. In addition, they comparatively inspected the association between subjective and objective hearing tests among bilateral and unilateral CI patients. It was observed that the current objective tests did not completely reflect the subjective everyday listening situations. The significance and requirement of questionnaires were elucidated in the evaluation of cochlear implantation. Hence, the analysis of both objective and subjective tests was advised, in CI patients on a regular basis.
