Correlation between lung perfusion blood volume and SPECT images in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension by balloon pulmonary angioplasty
Clinical Imaging Nov 20, 2017
Koike H, et al. - Researchers identified balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) as a new treatment for patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Here they determined the reperfusion by balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) in lung PBV and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) images. As per findings, BPA appeared as a promising treatment modality for CTEPH patients. SPECT/CT, and, to a lesser extent, PBV, seemed to have utility in identifying areas in need of balloon angioplasty.
