Correlation between electrocardiographic changes and coronary findings in patients with acute myocardial infarction and single-vessel disease
Annals of Translational Medicine Aug 25, 2017
Sanaani A, et al. – The association between electrocardiographic (ECG) abnormalities with the location of 1–vessel obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) was probed in this trial, in patients with both ST–elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non–ST–elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). The patients with anterior STEMI displayed left anterior descending artery (LAD) obstructive CAD. Patients with inferior STEMI exhibited a greater likelihood of presenting with right coronary artery (RCA) or left circumflex artery (LCX) obstructive CAD. Only half of NSTEMI patients reported definite ischemic ECG abnormalities. When present, anterior ischemic ECG changes in patients with single vessel CAD with NSTEMI appeared to be speculative of LAD obstructive CAD.
