Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) CT findings: A systematic review and meta- analysis
Journal of the American College of Radiology Apr 15, 2020
Bao C, et al. - Researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of results from published studies to date to serve a summary of evidence on detection of COVID-19 by chest CT and the expected CT imaging manifestations. They carried out to search PubMed database for articles published between December 2019 and February 2020. A random-effect model was applied to calculate pooled CT positive rate of COVID-19 and pooled incidence of CT imaging findings. This research included a sum of 13 studies. Among symptomatic individuals, the prognostication of COVID-19 chest CT imaging is very high at high risk, particularly applying thin-section chest CT. It was noted that in patients influenced by COVID-19, the most common CT features included ground glass opacities and consolidation involving the bilateral lungs in a peripheral distribution.
