Coronary artery disease assessed by computed tomography in patients with psoriasis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Kaiser H, et al. - Using coronary calcium score and cardiac computed tomography angiography, researchers quantitatively reviewed the literature data on the prevalence and burden of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with psoriasis vs controls. Fourteen eligible studies gave data on 1,427 psoriasis patients and 9,670 controls. According to this systematic review and meta-analysis, compared with controls without psoriasis, patients with psoriasis have a higher prevalence of subclinical CAD, a higher disease burden, and more high-risk coronary plaques.
