Conventional vs daylight photodynamic therapy for patients with actinic keratosis on face and scalp: 12-month follow-up results of a randomized, intra-individual comparative analysis
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Apr 03, 2018
Sotiriou E, et al. - Authors sought to compare the short-and long-term efficacy, safety and tolerability of daylight photodynamic therapy (DLPDT) vs that of conventional PDT (CPDT) in the face and scalp actinic keratoses (AKs). This study was conducted in 3 centers in North, Center and South Greece. Findings suggested that in terms of long-term efficacy and recurrence rates in the treatment of face and scalp AKs, DLPDT is similar to CPDT. A better tolerability profile was demonstrated by DLPDT as it was related to lower pain and less severe adverse events.
