Conventional ultrasound, immunohistochemical factors and BRAFV600E mutation in predicting central cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma
Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology Aug 16, 2018
Chen J, et al. - In papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients, researchers investigated whether there was an association between central cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) and ultrasound (US) features, immunohistochemical factors and BRAFV600E mutation by analyzing data from 225 consecutive patients who had undergone surgery. Risk factors for central CLNM were PTC ≤10 mm, microcalcification, internal vascularity, capsule contact or involvement and BRAFV600E mutation. The study findings suggested that the risk model might be beneficial in the treatment planning and management of patients with PTCs.
