Convalescent plasma therapy and mortality in COVID-19 patients admitted to the ICU: A prospective observational study

Hatzl S, Posch F, Sareban N, et al. - Researchers conducted this single-center prospective observational cohort study to assess the potential survival benefit of convalescent plasma therapy (CVP) in critically ill patients with acute respiratory failure caused by coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). This investigation was carried out in COVID-19 patients with acute respiratory failure. One hundred twenty patients were enrolled, 48 of whom received CVP. CVP administration in patients with acute respiratory failure caused by COVID-19 is associated with improved ICU survival rates.
