Barrou J, et al. - Patients treated by IORT in a single French institution were studied for the results and complications rate. Findings suggested a low toxicity rate with an acceptable local recurrence risk in relation to intraoperative radiation therapy. Thereby suggesting it to be considered as an option in the treatment of early breast cancer.
