Contrast-induced nephropathy is associated with new-onset atrial fibrillation in acute coronary syndrome after cardiac catheterization: Systemic review and meta-analysis
Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology Mar 19, 2019
Prasitlumkum N, et al. - Via a systematic review of the literature and a meta-analysis, the link between contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) in those with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) was examined, given CIN seems to be associated with new-onset AF in ACS patients. The meta-analysis included 5 studies with 5,640 subjects with ACS (1,102 with CIN and 4,538 without CIN). These studies were identified from MEDLINE and EMBASE from inception to April 2018. Among patients with ACS post-cardiac catheterization, the association of CIN with new-onset AF was threefold.
