Contrast-enhanced cone-beam breast-CT: Analysis of optimal acquisition time for discrimination of breast lesion malignancy
European Journal of Radiology Dec 12, 2017
Uhlig J, et al. - Researchers here aimed to examine the optimal acquisition time of contrast-enhanced cone-beam breast-CT (CBBCT) for best discrimination of breast lesion malignancy and whether contrast enhancement can aid in classification of tumor histology. The contrast enhancement on contrast-enhanced CBBCT showed best discrimination between malignant and benign breast lesions at 2 min after contrast media injection. The enhancement seemed to have the potential to differentiate histopathological subtypes, with the greatest enhancement among malignant lesions seen for ductal carcinoma in situ.
