Ng KT, et al. - This study analyzed data from acute decompensated heart failure patients treated with either continuous or bolus furosemide, primarily focusing on the mortality, length of hospital stay and efficacy profile of furosemide in both treatment groups. Although both treatment approaches did not differ with respect to all-cause mortality, length of hospital stay and electrolyte disturbance but with regard to diuretic effect and reduction in brain natriuretic peptide, continuous infusion was superior to bolus administration.
