Continuous infusion of low-dose Iohexol measures changing glomerular filtration rate in critically ill patients
Critical Care Medicine Mar 04, 2018
Dixon JJ, et al. - The extent to which continuous infusion of low-dose Iohexol can be a measure of changing glomerular filtration rate during acute kidney injury, was determined herein. Findings demonstrated accuracy and precision of continuous infusion of low-dose Iohexol when measuring glomerular filtration rate. Furthermore, in patients with differing risks of acute kidney injury, changes were tracked via continuous infusion of low-dose Iohexol. Overall, continuous infusion of low-dose Iohexol may afford a useful standard against which to test novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of acute kidney injury.
